About

My name is Spencer George, I’m aged 28, married with no kids and I have terminal cancer of an unknown type with a short prognosis for survival.  This site is an outlet for me to publish how I’m dealing with it, partly for family and friends to know how I am and partly because it feels like it will be therapeutic to write about it.

I honestly don’t know how often I will actually publish things but I’d like to think at least once a week I’ll give an update on my “progress”.

Check out the Diagnosis/History page for how I ended up here.

This is me:

And this is my wonderful wife Tamsin:

This is us on our wedding day, we were already engaged when I was first diagnosed and once we knew I had to start chemo we decided with about 2 weeks notice to have the wedding:

  1. Spence, you are truely inspirational..and the blog looks amazing, even in it’s early form. I hope that you will find us to be as strong as we help you on your journey. Love karen, charlie, henry and digby xx

  2. Hi Spencer, You probably don’t remember me at all but I do remember you and your family and have sort of kept track over the years through your sisters friendship with my daughter sharon. I am sandy Morgan and I was your nursery teacher at cheam common. Yesterday sharon sent me the link to your blog. I hope you dont mind. She knew I would be interested as I always like to hear about ‘my children’.
I was so saddened when I first heard of your illness and am so impressed by the amazing blog you are now doing and by your positive attitude to all that is happening to you. I just wanted to send my best wishes to you and your wife and to wish you strength and love together in the coming months. My kind regards to you to your family. Sandy Morgan.

    • Hi Sandy,
I passed your message on to my Mum who does indeed remember you well. I’m afraid being only 4 it was probably a long shot for my memory!! Of course I absolutely don’t mind, the more people who read this thing the merrier (completely the wrong phrase for what it’s about of course). Thank you very much for your best wishes. My wife and I really do appreciate it.

  3. Hi Spencer,
I haven’t see you for many years but am following your blog and just wanted to say that you and your family are in my prayers. I also just wanted to say how proud and overwhelmed I am by your strength.
    Take care

  5. Today was a wonderful celebration of your life. Your family were so strong . Your work mate Elizabeth gave us a true flavour of your amazing contribution to the firm and what a creative person you were. Your Dad , Tim spoke so well about you. He encapsulated your qualities and contribution to all the lives of those you touched. Bless you Spencer and your wonderful family and friends.
